Where have the Rules gone?

For the third day in a row I have been cut off while dropping my children off at school.  I drop one at an elementary and one at the junior high.  What I do not understand is why these parents think they do not have to wait in the drop off line like the other 6-10 parents that are waiting?  Why do they get to zoom by on the left and angle park in front of this line – effectively preventing any of us from leaving till they are done?
At both schools most of the time kids get out of 3-4 cars at one time, making the lines move fairly quickly UNTIL… that one parent who obviously is so much more important than us has to cut in front and clog everything up.  My favorite is the one who then sits there signing papers, kissing goodbye, talking for 5 minutes (& yes I have timed them).  Why couldn’t they have just waited in line and done all this has they waited their turn.
I know – Invisibility cloak – forgot to take it off the car.  I’ll have to remember to do that this weekend!!

  1. I think at Lincoln I was one of those parents on occasion. But I was picking up not dropping off and after school NO ONE is in a hurry. Didn't stay parked where people couldn't get past but DID cut in front of people who were just lollygagging around. All I wanted to do was pick up Katie and her occasional friend and move on.

  2. I think you should get out of your car, walk up and knock on their window, flip them off, and then go get back in your car. It will make you feel better!
